Lately it seems the Agon ratings of ALL (active) players on Tiltyard have been dropping. Is this an expected effect? Presumably i is caused by a change in the game pool (and probably mis-setting of game Agon difficulty?). Presumably as new games are added (I'm guessing the current trend is related to the bulk addition of the iterated games??) their initial Agon difficulties are arbitrarily set to 0 and it takes some time for equilibrium with the rest of the game pool (and player pool) to be achieved. Is this behaving as intended?
Note - I'm not implying any value judgement about this being a good or bad thing - I'm simply curious/

Yes, you're quite correct. Because difficulty and skill Agon ratings are initially set to zero, adding challenging new games will initially result in the skill ratings of the current players dropping, in the same way that adding new skilled players will initially result in the skill ratings of the current players dropping, as they lose matches that the Agon rating system expected them to win. This effect should disappear over time as the Agon rating system learns the true difficulty of the new games (for new games), or the true skill of the new players (for new players).
